Recital Information
There is a year end recital at the closing of every dance year at Studio M Dance Academy. It usually occurs the weekend before Father’s Day in June. Involvement in the recital is purely optional. Everyone is invited to participate in the recital and we strongly encourage it, but the choice is yours to make. We feel that it is a very good experience for the dancers and provides them with a strong closing to the year. We try to put on a very professional show from the tech rehearsal on Friday night to the actual performances on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and we feel the dancers benefit greatly from the experience.
We send out an intention letter late October; early November in which we ask you to make a decision as to whether on not your dancer will be in the recital. In the letter we will ask you if your dancer will be in the recital and for a costume deposit (which is non-refundable). Each dance performed requires a costume and tights. This decision is due November 30th and past due December 23rd. This to ensure timely delivery and discount from the costume company. Decisions made after that date will still be accepted but problems may arise and additional costs may apply.
We have a dress rehearsal and two same show performances. Dancers are required to be in attendance at all performances and dress rehearsal. Emergencies; illnesses and unforeseen circumstances may arise and some exceptions are allowed but all must be communicated and approved by Studio M Dance Academy. Please consider this before you make the commitment to participate in the recital. Last minute changes and spacing changes throw off even the best dancer and the dancers have been working toward this goal all year and most want to perform at their best. The commitment to the recital is a timely one. The weekend is a dance weekend, filled with work, fun, excitement and energy and has proved to be a wonderful time for the dancers; young and old alike.

Recital Costume and Tights Information
Dancers deciding to participate in the year end recital will be required to purchase a costume. Costumes are required for each class that a dancer is in. Involvement in the recital is purely optional. Everyone is invited to participate in the recital and we strongly encourage it, but the choice is yours. We feel that it is a very good experience for the dancers. We try to put on a very professional show from the tech rehearsal to the actual performance and feel the dancers benefit greatly from the experience. Deposit is $60.00 per class (costume) that you are in. For example; if you are in 3 classes that is $60.00 per class; $60.00 times 3 classes is $180.00.This is the deposit. The balance is due when the costume comes in, which is in the later part of May to early June. The balance is usually between $5.00-$20.00. Costume deposits ($60.00) are due November 30th and past due December 23. This is to insure timely delivery and discount from the costume company. Deposits received after December 23 will still be accepted but will have a $10.00 late fee assessed ($70.00 total), this is because orders are made separate from the class order and problems usually arise. Usually there is an additional cost involved with late ordering and that expense will be the dancer’s responsibility and sometimes the same costume is no longer available. Please note that this $60.00 is a deposit and once costumes are ordered it is not refundable, also once the costumes are ordered the balance is due even if the dancer cannot perform. Capezio tights will also be required: Ballet Pink for all Ballet classes and Light Suntan for all other classes. Since we never change the color of the tights, they can be used in following years for the recital, they just need to be free from runs, holes and stains. Tights that have runs, holes and stains can be used for class though. All tights can be purchased from our Studio or ordered (we can give you the inventory number).

Recital T-Shirt Information
Dancers deciding to participate in the year end recital are offered the opportunity to dance in a Finale’ dance. This dance is in addition to the dance that they will be in with their dance class. It is a dance that is open to all of the Studio M Dance Academy dancers. This dance occurs at the end of the recital right before the Finale’. All Academy dancers will be on stage and dancing the dance at one time. The costume for this dance is our current Recital Tee and plain black shorts or Studio M shorts, their recital tights and their recital shoes. Dancers wanting to be in this dance will need to purchase our current recital T-shirt. The shirt will have our Studio M Logo on the front of the tee and the name and year of the recital on the back. The deadline for ordering and purchasing the Recital Tee is April 30th. The current cost of the Recital Tee is $25.00. The Finale’ that occurs after the Finale’ Dance is open to all Studio M Dancers regardless if they purchased a Recital Tee or not. Again the Recital Tee is not required for the Finale’ only for the Finale’ Dance. Involvement in the Finale’ Dance is purely optional. Everyone is invited to participate in it and we strongly encourage it, but the choice is yours. We feel that it is a very good experience for the dancers and we have had very positive feedback from the dancers and the audience.
CLOSING POSE STUDENT RECITAL 2020
